FLEX machine polishing and sanding, taught by the people who build the tools
The Flexxperts Academy is a two-day FLEX machine polishing and sanding course, run by UK Detailing Academy in partnership with FLEX Tools. You’ll get hands-on time with every machine in the FLEX range – from the PE14 rotary to the PXE nano polisher, the flexible shaft tool, the XFE2 random orbital and the XCE2 forced drive – and learn how to get a flawless, consistent finish from each one.
Day One – Machine Polishing
Day One is open to all skill levels. We start with the theory – the different machine movement types and what each one does to the paint – so everyone is working from the same foundation before heading into the studio.
From there it’s hands-on. You’ll learn combination matching: how to correctly pair machine, pad and compound to the paint in front of you, and why that pairing changes depending on the tool. Every machine type is demonstrated and put in your hands, corded and cordless, on both test panels and live vehicles – so you can refine your technique or simply explore what each polisher is capable of under instruction.
You’ll finish the day with a FLEX training certificate, the option to continue to Day Two, and the chance to buy any FLEX polisher you’ve used at a significant discount – ideal for trying before you buy.
Day Two – Sanding and Refinement
Day Two moves from polishing into machine sanding and correction. Used properly, short-throw sanding machines and fine abrasive grades can rescue heavily marked, freshly painted or otherwise flawed finishes that polishing alone won’t fix.
You’ll learn to sand safely and effectively with the FLEX ORE orbital sander, remove orange peel and heavier defects, then refine the surface back to a perfect finish using the machine polishing skills built on Day One. Complete both days and you’ll leave with the full Flexxpert All-In accreditation, along with brand association and promotion rights for your business.
Who it’s for
This is a professionals-only course, suited to detailers and car care professionals who are already competent with a machine polisher. If you’re newer to machine work, our Foundation Machine Polishing course is the better place to start.
