Motorcycle Detailing (Group)

£195.00

Add a specialism and tap a new detailing market.

Motorcycles represent a genuinely distinct detailing discipline — different requirements, exposed mechanical components, delicate fairings, and surfaces that require a different approach to cars.

This one-day group course gives established detailers the practical skills and specialist knowledge to add motorcycles to their service offering with confidence. Motorbikes can also be awkward to handle safely and securely if you don’t know how. We get you cold-manoeuvring and stand-mounting from the start of the course, so you will always be able to work safely.

The day covers the full workflow: safe handling and bike setup, stage-by-stage cleaning and decontamination, fairing removal, paintwork assessment, machine polishing, and protection across every surface type. All training bikes are provided, so there’s no concern about working on your own machine, and no motorbike licence is required.

Being a small group course, only up to 6 detailers attend each session — a practical, cost-effective way to add a valuable specialism alongside fellow professionals.

Motorcycle Detailing Group Day

What the course covers

The day opens with health and safety protocols specific to motorcycle detailing, alongside guidance on marketing yourself as a motorcycle specialist — a niche most car detailers overlook and few actively promote.

From there, the course works through the complete practical workflow: safe bike setup using side stands, centre stands, paddock stands, exhaust plugging, and jacking; condition assessment; and detailed cleaning and decontamination of fairings, tanks, screens, wheels, suspension components, running gear, and engine bays. Fairing panel removal is covered step-by-step, with clear guidance on what can safely be approached and what to leave alone.

The afternoon focuses on paintwork inspection and defect identification, an introduction to small-area machine polishing equipment and techniques, Perspex polishing, and protection options across paint, plastics, chrome, anodised parts, powder coat finishes, and anti-corrosion treatments. Helmet and visor care rounds off the day.

Who this course is for

This course is built primarily for working detailers who are ready to expand into motorcycles — whether you want to open up a new customer base, handle the bikes that are already coming through your door, or simply add a specialism that sets you apart from generalist competitors. Non-professionals are more than welcome to attend and learn alongside, but be aware we are approaching the subject from a view of efficiency and professional undertaking, though you will still find it engaging and full of new technique.

No motorcycle licence is needed and all training bikes are provided, so you can focus entirely on building the skill.

Group day or 1-to-1?

The group format works well if you’re comfortable learning alongside other professionals and want the most accessible entry point into motorcycle detailing. If you’d prefer a private session tailored entirely to your pace and existing skill level, the Professional Motorcycle Detailing 1-to-1 course covers the same material individually for personalised, focused learning.
