What the course covers
The day works through every stage of a professional motorcycle detail, from initial assessment and safe handling through to protection and presentation. You’ll cover health and safety protocols, marketing yourself as a motorcycle specialist, and the full range of practical skills that differentiate a professional motorcycle detail from a basic wash.
Practical content includes safe handling and setup using side stands, centre stands, paddock stands, and jacking; washing, pre-wash, and snow foam application; decontamination using acids, alkalis, and fallout removers; wheel cleaning; degreasing and cleaning of suspension, running gear, swing arm, and forks; safe fairing panel removal; engine cleaning; chain and sprocket inspection, cleaning, and re-lubrication; paintwork inspection and defect identification; small-area machine polishing; Perspex polishing; and protection for paint, plastic, wheels, metal, chrome, anodised parts, powder coat, and anti-corrosion surfaces.
The course also covers care and maintenance of helmets and visors — a service many motorcycle clients actively look for and that few detailers currently offer.
Who this course is for
This course is designed for detailers who have already completed Level 1 (or equivalent experience) and are confident in car detailing fundamentals. It’s aimed at those looking to add motorcycle detailing as a specialist service — whether as a primary niche or as an additional offering alongside existing car work.
If you’re starting from scratch with no prior detailing training, the Level 1 Motorbike or Level 1 + Motorbike courses are the better starting point.
