What the course covers
The 1-to-1 Advanced Interior Cleaning course is structured around both knowledge and practical technique, with demonstration and hands-on work running throughout the day. You’ll cover the chemistry behind stain removal — understanding how different products interact with different materials and stains — before working through each area of the interior in turn through methodical, process-led technique, which will lead to customers returning over and over again.
Topics include material and surface identification, removal of components for deep cleaning (seats, trim, steering wheels), vacuuming, steam cleaning and wet extraction technique, specific stain removal for ink, oils, tannins, paints, sand, and hard-to-shift substances including chewing gum, pet hair removal and allergen management, glass cleaning and access, odour removal and biocidal sanitising treatments, and surface protection application for hard surfaces, leather, and fabric.
You’ll also cover care for delicate modern surfaces — HUDs, touch controls, binnacles, and high-gloss screens — which are increasingly common and require a different approach to traditional interior materials.
Workflow and upselling
Alongside the technical content, the course introduces a proven methodical checklist designed to ensure thoroughness on every vehicle without losing time or missing crucial areas. It introduces techniques to deal with unknown history safely and efficiently, and how to tackle issues at every step from carpet to headlining. You’ll also cover how to identify upsell opportunities within an interior job — a practical commercial skill that increases average job value without adding significant time or effort.
