What the course covers
The day is structured progressively — you’ll start with the fundamentals of surface reading and sanding film selection, then work through electric and hand sanding techniques before moving into wet sanding, which demands the greatest precision and delivers the most impressive results. Each stage builds on the last, with increasingly challenging panels as your confidence and technique develop.
You’ll work with a range of tools throughout the day — electric sanders, sanding films, backing systems, compounds, and finishing equipment — with everything provided.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear, practised understanding of when and how to apply each technique, and the judgment to know which approach a given job calls for.
Who this course is for
This course is aimed at experienced detailers who are already confident with machine polishing — ideally with both rotary and dual-action machines — and who are comfortable with heavy correction work.
Sanding sits above machine polishing in the correction hierarchy, and the course assumes that the foundation is already in place in order to get the most out of this advanced class.
If you’re not yet at that level, the Advanced Machine Polishing course is the natural step to take first.
