UKDA joins up with LeTech

Some fantastic news for anyone looking to start leather repair, or anyone who has previously trained with us in the skill. UK Detailing Academy are now the official and exclusive UK training centre for LeTech Leather Care and Restoration.

Many of our students and professional network will know that, in January, we took the disappointing decision to end our relationship with our previous partner, following issues with the continuation of stock and support from the new owners, something many in the industry, both here in the UK and globally, became frustrated by.

We’re a bit picky on who we train for at the Academy, so we’ve taken a bit of time on this one.

Whilst we had several offers to take on leather training for other well-known brands since, we had five main criteria we wanted to meet.

They had to be:

  • UK based and manufactured.
  • Hold professional quality repair products at sensible prices.
  • Be willing to actively promote trained users.
  • Be able to offer something different to users, beyond just automotive leather repair, should users choose to develop further.
  • Be compatible with previously used pigments and top-coats, to allow previously trained users to gradually switch as needed.

Based in Northampton, LeTech are a 50-year manufacturer and supplier to all aspects of the leather trade, with all products made and stocked in the UK for hassle-free supply.

“LeTech was the company that ticked every box on our list, and more, with a commitment to supporting and growing awareness of the network of professional restorers globally.

We’re thrilled to have started a partnership with LeTech, and look forward to introducing them and their products to new students.”

Group courses will be run quarterly starting in 2026, with a special offer on our first launch course in March, and the 1-1 course can be booked now.

The courses are priced as all-inclusive to provide a full repair kit and initial consumables alongside the training, so users can hit the ground running. However, if you just want the course on its own, perhaps to allow you to wean off other products you may have in stock, just get in touch.

If you have been trained by us previously using other products, we will be in touch soon to offer you a space on a “familiarisation day”, so your supply can be uninterrupted and you can understand all the products – the repair techniques are largely unchanged, but there are a few new tricks to show you…

You’ll love this stuff, we promise.
