Rich wins IDA Trainer of the Year

Rich March of UK Detailing Academy Named Trainer of the Year at IDA Awards, MTE 2026

Rich March, lead trainer at UK Detailing Academy Ltd in Gloucestershire, has been honoured with the prestigious Trainer of the Year Award by the International Detailing Association (IDA) at the Mobile Tech Expo (MTE) 2026 awards gala in Orlando, Florida. The accolade recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond in supporting and advancing professional detailing education and training across the global industry.

Held on 30 January 2026 at Rosen Shingle Creek, the annual IDA Awards Gala and Annual Business Meeting is the highlight of the detailing calendar, celebrating outstanding contributions by professionals from around the world. Rich’s recognition underscores the influence of UK-based expertise in the field, and the success of UK Detailing Academy at delivering high-quality, innovative training courses for students starting up or and already invested in their own detailing careers.

The Trainer of the Year Award is presented to a Recognised Independent Trainer (RIT) of the IDA who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to conducting and participating in industry training events, helping elevate standards and inspire others to pursue excellence. Nominees are selected by the IDA’s Nominating Committee and voted on by a body of recognised trainers, certification volunteers, and the IDA Board.

Rich March, who holds multiple IDA certifications including CD-SV, MC-SV, RVC and WC, has been instrumental in expanding the reach and reputation of the UK Detailing Academy, which is known for its comprehensive and practical training programmes tailored to both aspiring and experienced detailers. Under his guidance, the Academy has delivered courses that blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills and business insights, equipping students with a well-rounded foundation for success in the professional detailing world.

The accolade marks a significant milestone not only in Rich’s career but also for the UK Detailing Academy, which has steadily built an unrivalled reputation for quality training from its base in the Cotswolds. The Academy’s programmes cover core technical techniques, including paint correction, machine polishing, protective coatings and more, as well as business-focused elements designed to help graduates scale their operations and build sustainable careers.

In reaction to the award, colleagues and trainees alike have praised Rich’s approachable teaching style and deep industry knowledge. Independent reviews of the Academy highlight his ability to break down complex techniques into accessible, engaging lessons, making advanced skills achievable for learners at various stages of their careers.

The MTE awards saw a range of other winners celebrated across multiple categories, reinforcing the diversity and vitality of the professional detailing community. From technicians and specialists to businesses and brands, the event shines a spotlight on those driving innovation and excellence within the industry.

Looking ahead, Rich and the UK Detailing Academy are expected to continue playing a leading role in professional development, with further training events, certification support and industry collaborations planned throughout 2026 and beyond. The recognition at MTE 2025 serves as a testament to both his individual commitment and the growing stature of British professionals on the global detailing stage.
