Our one-day Foundation Machine Polishing course is tailored for individuals who fall into one of the following categories:

  • Those who have never had the opportunity to familiarise themselves fully with a machine polisher before.
  • Individuals who have exclusively used a single type of machine polisher.
  • Participants who have limited themselves to entry-level machines and basic techniques, and are now seeking to upgrade or refine their skills, focusing on a long throw Dual Action polisher.

Throughout the course, we cover a variety of machines if you are still looking to purchase so you can find what suits you best. We focus on  dual action machines for this course as the most accessible and suitable option for those starting out. Alternatively, for a complete comprehensive overview of all machine types, consider enrolling in our two-day Advanced Machine Polishing course once you have gained the initial skills from Foundation level.

We have a diverse selection of over 30 machines available in-house from many different manufacturers; however, if you have a specific machine you’d like to bring along, please inform us on the day, and we’ll be glad to accommodate your preference.

The Introduction to Machine Polishing course not only focuses on hardware, but also delves into:

  • Identifying surface defects and contamination.
  • Implementing efficient and productive methods.
  • Preparing and decontaminating surfaces correctly.
  • Understanding paint readings.
  • Identifying defects.
  • Utilising paint thickness measurement techniques using Magnetic Resonance, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic gauges.
  • Making informed decisions on polishing techniques.
  • Familiarise yourself with pad and compound types and select the appropriate ones.
  • Perfecting finishing techniques.
  • Exploring options for dressing, sealant/wax, and presentation.
  • Prioritising health and safety practices.

The primary objective of this course is to equip you with the confidence to operate a Dual Action machine polisher across various scenarios, empowering you to practice and refine the necessary techniques, adapt them to different situations, and utilise the tools correctly to achieve full competency and fantastic results.
