The Friday Sessions are a monthly event giving you a free learning opportunity right here in the classroom at UK Detailing Academy. We wanted to create a small session of up to 20 people in the room, sometimes hosted by ourselves, sometimes joined by special guests, to deliver some topics that detailers can use to further themselves and their businesses.
Friday Sessions are completely free to attend, signup opens on the 1st of each month at 9.00 am.
Please note – this is an in-person event and you will need to travel to us in order to attend. Please ensure you are aware of our location and are willing to travel before booking.

PPF and Detailing very much go hand in hand. The demand for the service is huge as customers look to protect their vehicles from chips, scrapes, damage and marring – far beyond what a coating can achieve.
It’s a skill though, and this session is aimed at giving you a chance to come and try it out in a hands-on workshop applying PPF, use the film, see the process, understand the costs and benefits associated with the service, and see if it’s something you want to pursue.
Presented by Russ Urmston, the session topics include:
- How PPF works, and how it’s applied
- The skills and environment you will need,
- The tools, and consumables
- Preparation steps for vehicles
- Workshop time to let you try pattern and bulk installation of the film, along with an overview of the specialist techniques you will need for both methods.
