The Friday Sessions

£0.00

The Friday Sessions are a monthly event offering you a free learning opportunity, right here in the UKDA classroom.

We’ve created these as a session for topics that can’t fill a normal course, but are based on questions and topics we’re always asked about – sometimes hosted by ourselves, sometimes joined by special guests we have lined up, to deliver some workshop topics that detailers can use to grow themselves and their businesses.

Signups for future events will open once the previous event has finished.
Please note – this is an in-person event and you will need to travel to us in order to attend.

Next Session 30/05/2025 – PPF Introduction and workshop – Russ Urmston/Invisible Patterns (sign up open)

PPF and Detailing very much go hand in hand.

The demand for the service is huge as customers look to protect their vehicles from chips, scrapes, damage and marring – far beyond what a coating can achieve.

It’s a skill though, and this session is aimed at giving you a chance to come and try it out in a hands-on workshop applying PPF, use the film, see the process, understand the costs and benefits associated with the service, and see if it’s something you want to pursue.

Presented by Russ Urmston and Apeax Films, the session topics include:

  • How PPF works, and how it’s applied
  • The skills and environment you will need,
  • The tools, and consumables
  • Preparation steps for vehicles
  • Workshop time, to let you try pattern and bulk installation of the film, along with an overview of the specialist techniques you will need for both methods.
